This camp will run from Monday - Wednesday from 9:00AM - 12:00PM.  Space is limited and registration will open September 2024.

We will also be hosting Little Farmer Training Thursdays and Farm Frolic Fridays beginning July 2024.   Registration and schedule will be open and posted June 1, 2024.

What is the Rural Roots Education Program all about?

Our Rural Roots Program is divided into five fun topics. Each topic is catered to the specific age group(s) and abilities of our participants in a safe, fun environment whether it is in our barn classroom, out in the fields or in our education center.
  • Down on the Farm - The basics of farming, farming practices, and the role of our farmers in food production including sustainable methods, traditional vs modern techniques all play a part in the importance of agriculture in society.
  • Fields and Friends - Farm life and the environment including farm ecology, animal husbandry and water management are all important and necessary to our local community.
  • Green Thumb Day - Learn about crop production, crop selection and planning. Soil preparation and planning including weed and pest management and then harvesting.  What are the harvesting techniques, storage and preservation methods
  • Country Critter Day- Livestock management includes breeding programs, nutrition and feeding along with health and disease management.
  • Agriventure Day - What are farm economics and why is that important? Marketing farm products, farm diversification and value added products are all important factors
