Growing Minds Farm Education Programs
Our program consists of our Rural Roots Program and our Nature Nurture Program. All of our lessons plans are based on STEM concepts and skills through exploration, crafts, play, lots of "hands on" activities with our little farm animals, and garden activities.
Regardless of the program, our focus is learning about our farm animals, their needs, life cycles and their importance to Santa Barbara County's agriculture industry. While learning at Growing Minds there are numerous opportunities for language development, sensory learning, increasing appreciation for nature and the importance of animals to humanity.
Did you know that the research shows the more a child can pet or feed animals, the more they develop a sense of empathy. They’ll become more thoughtful as they wonder if the goats and horses are hungry or whether the cows and sheep like being stroked.
