Growing Minds Farm Education Program is located at the KiaOra Ranch in Solvang. Along with our planned farm education camps and programs we offer opportunities to visit us during our designated Family Days, Farm Frolic Fridays and Sensory Sundays. Our 2024 Calendar will be posted by May 2024 on our Home page.
Children and adults can learn about our local agricultural community touching and seeing the farm animals, walking the native and irrigated pastures, picking fresh fruit and vegetables, and even having a picnic in the garden or in the shade of the oak trees. Whether you are a individual, family, or organized group, whenever possible we will work with you to design your visit so that you can choose the extent to which you want to participate in activities.

Garden AdventuresOur garden is a place for the young and old to pick the fresh vegetables, plant a sunflower, have a picnic, pick a pumpkin in our little pumpkin patch while learning about our local zone for planting and growing your own garden.
Bring your lunch and enjoy the surroundings! |
Family daysPlan a birthday party or even a "pretty pony" party with Bella in the garden or our Dick Lewis complete with a walking tour to visit the other farm animals or plan your next photo shoot on one of the many scenic nooks on the property.
Whenever possible we will work with you to design your visit so that you can choose the extent to which you want to participate in activities or just enjoy nature and our farm environment. |
Farm toursWe understand that sometimes children and adults diagnosed with Autism and other related disabilities may have sensory challenges, phobias, inappropriate behaviors and safety concerns which may make having a farm adventure a bit harder than just your average walk in the park.
Visits are designed for a group’s specific needs designed so that individuals could choose the extent to which they participated in activities and are able to experience them at their own pace. |
